Memory foam mattresses are generally comfortable. This is a type of mattress that can adhere to the contours of your body. The mattress is firm at first touch but when it adjusts to your temperature, it softens up considerably resulting to a more comfortable sleep.

1. Know which density level you prefer
The density is what gives the mattress comfort away. Usually this type of mattress is known for its 5 pounds and more of density. However, not all people can find comfort in that density amount. Some people do not feel relaxed in sleeping on that type of density because the mattress is too firm. A very firm bed might not provide comfort to the lower back resulting to lower back pains. If you don't really have upper back problems, try a density of 4 pounds. This is the right amount of firmness and softness.
2. Find out how the mattress was constructed
The construction procedure can determine the durability of the mattress. If it has been constructed well, expect the mattress to last for about 10-15 years. Also find out what materials were used in making the foam and what temperature was used. The temperature used is also crucial as this can let you know how durable it really is.
3. Get a 30-day comfort trial
We cannot really say for certain that this type of bed is good enough to sleep on for many years. Even if two people bought the same mattress brand and the same model, the comfort can still vary. This is due to the nature of memory foam itself. It can change depending on temperature and construction. It would be wise to get 30-day comfort trial so you can test the bed for a few days. You can still return and exchange it if it proves to be too uncomfortable for you.
Good brands such as Bergad, Bragada and Sterns and Foster have received quite good comments when it comes to a comfortable memory foam mattress. You might want to start looking in their showrooms to find what you are looking for.
